Bloom – verb – “to flourish or thrive.” Bloom refers to the process of producing flowers or coming into full beauty or health. It is commonly used to describe plants when they develop blossoms, but it can also be applied metaphorically to people, ideas, or things that flourish, thrive, or reach their peak condition.
When used literally, "to bloom" refers to when a plant opens its flowers or reaches a stage where it displays blossoms. For example: "The roses bloom in early summer." This usage focuses on the visible transformation and growth of plants.
Metaphorically, "to bloom" can describe someone or something growing, improving, or prospering. For example: "She bloomed into a confident speaker," meaning she developed and flourished in her abilities. It can also refer to the period when a person or thing is at its best or most productive.
I always tend to relate to things with a floral and nature mindset and when I think of the phrase “to bloom”, I picture it as a slow growth and finding ways to bloom despite setbacks or surroundings. Nature always finds a way to bloom and L’Aura Botanicals continues to bloom from its first days as a seed (the first thoughts of creating the business) to where it is today, 11 years after planting those first seeds. We have seasons bursting with color, aromas, and (barely) controlled chaos. And of course, there are quiet seasons where we go inward, similar to nature’s phase after harvest (the holidays). Here, we take a break to rest, plant new seeds, and prepare to bloom again as the next cycle of nature takes its turn.
