Spring cleaning doesn’t have to involve harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances. To freshen up your space naturally, start by opening windows to let in fresh air and sunlight, which can help clear out stale odors and energize your home.
Use simple homemade cleaners like a mix of vinegar and water for surfaces, baking soda for scrubbing, and lemon juice to cut grease and add a pleasant aroma.
Incorporate botanicals by placing fresh flowers or greenery around your home.
Use natural fiber cloths for dusting and wiping that can be put in the wash and then reused.
Switch out synthetic air fresheners for essential oil diffusers, room sprays, or simmer pots filled with citrus peels and herbs.
These small changes help create a healthier, more inviting environment while keeping your spring cleaning gentle and eco-friendly.
Here is one of our favorite recipes we use as a natural carpet deodorizer!
1 cup of baking soda
3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
3 drops of Tea Trea Essential Oil
3 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
Stir gently and then put into a jar. Simply sprinkle over the area you are vacuuming, and you are good to go! The baking soda works as a natural deodorizer while the essential oils refresh your space, all without any chemicals involved.
