Road Trip Reset

Road Trip Reset

Every once in a while, you need to put everything on your to-do lists aside, take some time for yourself, and take a roadtrip. It doesn’t have to be for a long period of time, sometimes it can just be for a long weekend traveling somewhere new to get away from home for a bit.

For years, our roadtrips consisted of traveling up north to Lake Tahoe to visit my mom. We were lucky that was where she lived and that we were able to visit family in such a beautiful, serene setting. These days, we road trip it up to just outside the Tahoe area but still enjoy the trip and family time.

The drive is long, but we make the best of it, discovering new places along the way and interesting facts about the things we come across. We say hi to the cows and get excited seeing transport trucks full of tomatoes, as dorky as that is. The point is that we completely step away from our day-to-day lives and make a point not to talk about work or business.

When you step away, you clear the clutter in your head. Different doors open, creativity and ideas start to flow. You laugh more, you sleep better, you set down the stress you don’t realize you carry day-to-day. You create memories that you will laugh about in years to come. The stories you gather and the “remember that time…” moments bring those bonds into the future.

A road-trip reset closes all the open tabs in your head that you constantly worry about, and opens new ones full of laughter, creativity, and lasting memories.
